Since 2011, I have worked as a freelance music engraver for Hal Leonard Europe, primarily within its band and ensemble catalogue.

Music engraving is the process of creating fully realized, high-quality editions of existing scores and parts. While this work was traditionally carried out through plate engraving, sheet music is now entered and edited digitally using specialized software such as Finale, Sibelius and Dorico.

This allows me to correct errors, complete missing material and create new performance possibilities. Throughout the process, I pay close attention to readability, visual design, page layout and the consistent preparation of both the full score and the individual parts.

For Hal Leonard Europe, I work closely with several leading composers in the international band and ensemble field, including Bert Appermont, Dirk Brossé, Thierry Deleruyelle, Jan de Haan, Philip Harper, Kevin Houben, Jan Van der Roost, Oliver Waespi and Thomas Doss.
